Police statement about Woolmer murder inquiry

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Mar 23 (Reuters) Following is the short statement released yesterday by Jamaican police in connection with the death of Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer, who died on Sunday.

''The pathologist's report states that Mr Woolmer's death was due to asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation.

''In these circumstances the matter of Mr Robert Woolmer's death is now being treated by the Jamaican police a case of murder.'' Reuters DH VP0658
