Polo back in Kashmir after 61 years

Srinagar, Nov 2 (UNI) The game of polo was back in the Kashmir valley after more than six decades when Kashmir Blue defeated Kashmir Red 12-3 in an exhibition match at historic ground of S P College here today.

Polo in Kashmir was last played during the British period at he historic polo ground.

The main purpose of organising this match'' Kashmir Polo Match 2008'' was to revive this sports in Kashmir again after six decades, Director Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah said.

After a 2-2 goal first half, the Kashmir Blue emerged the winners defeating the Kashmir Red by 12-3.
