Pooja Chaurushi to perform Triathlon in China

Surat, Apr 22 (UNI) Puja Chaurushi, who has won the first Gold Medal for Gujarat and broke her own previous record in the game of Triathlon, is the only player from India to participate in the game in the Asian championship in China.

The 16-year-old sports star, a National Triathlon champion, has won 86 gold medals, 38 silver medals and 32 bronze medals in State and National championships.

Triathlon is a game, in which a player has to perform in three types of sports at a time -- swimming, cycling and sprinting.

Normally in senior level championships, a player has to perform swimming of 1,500 metres, cycling for about 40 km and running for for 10 km. Pooja performed in this category and broke her own past record (2.24 hours) by completing the competition in 2.15 hours.
