Poona Club's Punjabi, Gurudutta in last 16

Pune, May 1 (UNI) Kapil Punjabi and Sonu Gurudutta of hosts Poona Club entered the knockout stage of the Rs 2.10 lakh 2nd Poona Club Limited (PCL) Manisha Open&Invitational Snooker Championship 2007 being played and organized by the Poona Club.

Punjabi scored a 71-25,62-19,75-33 straight frames victory over RCBC'S Rishi Rammaiyya, while Sonu Gurudutta knocked out PYC's Shivam Arora 66-40, 53-36,61-24 to make it to the last 16.

In other interesting matches, Siddarth Baran of 147 Snooker Club came closer to the last 16 stage, scraping past Poona Club's Mohan Jagtap in tough five frames 41-66, 55-11, 14-51, 63-28, 64-28, while seasoned Arun Barve of PYC defeated Sachin Sancheti of 147 snooker Club 69-49,55-47,20-56,57-46.

Matches were only played in one session due to public holiday today.
