Powar looking at comeback as another opportunity to cement his place
Nasik, Jan 12 (UNI) Mumbai off-spinner Ramesh Powar today said his inclusion in the Indian ODI team, was another opportunity to perform and cement a place in the national side.
Powar, speaking after the end of the third day's play in their Ranji match against Maharashtra here, said he was used to comebacks and could take disappointments in his stride.
''I am obviously happy at making it back in the Indian team and now I have to try and perform better than before to be able to stay on in the team,'' he said.
Powar said he was not looking forward to the World Cup, but was concentrating on the chance he has been given against the West Indies and was looking at performing in these matches. ''If I perform here, then only the chances of me being picked in the World Cup team would become better. I am taking it day by day and not thinking too far ahead,'' he said.
Powar, however, admitted that he still had to work a lot on his batting. ''I know I can bat and need to work on that as it would give the team more options,'' he added.
