India's Chess prodigy, R Praggnanandhaa, has candidly discussed the significance of corporate backing in excelling at chess tournaments worldwide. Following his debut at the FIDE, he reflected on his performance and underscored the importance of learning from the experience to enhance future performances.
Praggnanandhaa's calendar is brimming with prestigious events, starting with the Grand Chess Tour. He detailed, "The Grand Chess Tour starts with the Rapid and Blitz tournament in Poland in May. It's followed by the Superbet Romania classical tournament from June 24 to July 6, the Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz in August, and the Sinquefield Cup."

Additionally, he shared his enthusiasm for participating in the Norway Chess in May and the Real Masters in Switzerland for the first time. The young grandmaster emphasized the crucial role of corporate sponsorship in his journey, particularly highlighting the Adani Group's support.
"Chess training and participation in international tournaments require substantial financial resources. The Adani Group's support has been vital, allowing me and my family to focus on the game without worrying about the financial burden," he expressed. This backing has enabled him to compete in top-tier tournaments without financial constraints.
Praggnanandhaa also offered insights into his comprehensive preparation regimen, which includes both mental and physical training. "Preparation for tournaments involves technical skills, opening ideas, and mental readiness," he stated.
To maintain his physical and mental well-being, he engages in sports like badminton and beach volleyball, alongside his chess training. "The physical aspect is crucial, especially when tournaments involve playing 14 long games, which is physically and mentally demanding," he added.
The dedication and support system behind Praggnanandhaa's success highlight the challenges and requirements of competing at the highest levels of chess. His journey underscores the importance of a supportive infrastructure, including corporate sponsorship, in nurturing sporting talent.
