Prajanchai to Lobo - What’s Next For The Biggest Winners Of ONE Fight Night 28?

By Mike Joseph

ONE Fight Night 28 opened and ended with spectacular stoppages. On 8 February, fans inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and viewers watching around the globe were treated to an electrifying night of action.

Thai star Prajanchai PK Saenchai retained his belt against a tough opponent. While Kongthoranee Sor Sommai outworked his Thai compatriot Nong-O Hama. Other stars also secured big wins, moving closer to future title shots. Here's what next for these biggest winners of ONE Fight Night 28.

Prajanchai PK Saenchai next fight after title defence at ONE Fight Night 28

Prajanchai PK Saenchai

Two-sport ONE World Champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai defended his Muay Thai strap in style. He defeated English striker Ellis Badr Barboza by TKO in the fourth round. The Thai's right elbow wreaked havoc on Barboza face, forcing the referee to stop the fight on the ringside doctor's advice.

Now, the 30-year-old is ready to face anyone in Muay Thai. For his kickboxing belt, however, he has a specific opponent in mind - Jonathan Di Bella. The Canadian-Italian gave him a tough challenge in their first ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title match.

Kongthoranee Sor Sommai

Thai sensation Kongthoranee Sor Sommai has made waves since his arrival on the global stage. Last week, he handed Nong-O Hama a defeat in the former's promotional flyweight debut. With an 11-2 promotional record under his belt, he has put his name in the mix for the division's vacant belt.

Next, Elias Mahmoudi could be a worthy opponent, but Kongthoranee must wait until June. Mahmoudi failed a drug test and is facing a six-month suspension. He could also challenge Superlek Kiatmoo9 or Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who would likely be his toughest test in ONE so far.

Felipe Lobo

Top bantamweight Muay Thai star Felipe Lobo proved his first win against Saemapetch Fairtex wasn't a fluke. This time Lobo dropped him four times to secure a TKO victory. The Thai veteran had no answer for his rival's devastating attacks.

Lobo's last defeat came against Nabil Anane, who is now an interim World Champion. He could challenge the winner of Superlek vs. Anane, who will unify belts in March at ONE 172. If not, a rematch against Jonathan Haggerty would be an ideal option for him.
