Prakash Amritraj enters pre-QFs of ATP challenger
Granby (Canada) July 25: Prakash Amritraj chalked out a facile straight set win over Nicholas Tourte of France in the opening round to enter the pre-quarters-finals of the 50,000 dollar ATP Challenger tournament here.
Prakash, who made it into the semi-final at Aptos (California) last week, produced a clinical show knocking out his opponent 6-2, 6-3 to start his campaign in style.
In the pre-quarters, the US-based Indian faces Canadian qualifier Milan Pokrajac, who defeated American Roman Borvanov 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Son of legendary Vijay Amritraj, Prakash has shown signs of coming of the age of late with some good shows. Earlier this month, he made news by entering the quarter-finals of an ATP Tour event in Newport.
