Prasenjit Dutta emerges Delhi Open chess champion

New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Better progressive score helped Prasenjit Dutta overcome top seed Rahul Sangma to become champion in the Delhi state Open Chess Championship.

In the seventh and final round, Prasenjit faced tough fight from world Under-9 silver medallist Prince Bajaj in second board.

But in the first board, top seed Rahul Sangma easily over came Deepak Rai.

Both Rahul and Prasenjit tied with six points but better progressive score helped Prasenjit to clinch the title.

Hemant Sharma and Saket Kumar won third and fourth position respectively.

Prasenjit, Rahul, Hemant and Saket have been selected to represent Delhi in the forthcoming National Women 'B' Chess Championship which is scheduled to be held at Dindigul, Tamil Nadu next month.
