The excitement is building as Prime Volleyball League gears up for its fourth season, with the player auction slated for June 8 in Calicut. Reigning MVP Jerome Vinith will headline the auction pool, while teams have already begun laying their foundations by retaining key players.

Franchises were permitted to retain up to three players each, and several squads have opted to preserve their core strengths.

Ahmedabad Defenders have opted to continue with the seasoned setter Muthusamy Appavu and explosive attacker Nandhagopal S, counting on their experience and chemistry. Over in the south, the Bengaluru Torpedoes have retained their trusted trio - attacker Sethu TR, middle blocker Mujeeb MC, and libero Midhunkumar B - to ensure continuity in their lineup.

Chennai Blitz have chosen to back youth, holding onto promising universal player Dhilip Kumar.

The defending champions, Calicut Heroes, have secured Vikas Maan (middle blocker) and Ashok Bishnoi, who operates as a universal attacker. Delhi Toofans have also stuck with their dependable combination of setter Saqlain Tariq, libero Anand K, and attacker Anu James.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Black Hawks have reinforced their lineup by keeping universal Sahil Kumar, middle blocker John Joseph, and attacker Guru Prashanth in their ranks.

The Kochi Blue Spikers have taken a more streamlined approach, choosing to retain only one player - attacker Erin Varghese - as they look to rebuild around him.

Kolkata Thunder Bolts will enter the new season with an exciting retained core: Ashwal Rai (now set to play as a universal), attacker Rahul K, and libero Hariprasad BS.

Lastly, Mumbai Meteors will rely on the attacking prowess of Amit Gulia and the versatility of Shubham Chaudhary as a universal to spearhead their campaign.

With just weeks to go, all eyes are on the upcoming auction, which promises high drama and intense bidding as franchises chase elite talent - including the highly sought-after Jerome Vinith - to shape their rosters for a title run in Season 4.
