Prince Bajaj, R Mathuravani win Amity U-11, girl's titles

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) World under-9 silver medallist Prince Bajaj of DPS Ghaziabad and R Mathuravani of Delhi Tamil Education Association School, Janakpuri won the Amity Delhi State Under-11 Open and Girls Chess Championships respectively.

In the final round of Open Category, second seed Prince Bajaj defeated S Meherjot, grabbing the title with seven points from seven rounds.

Top Seed and Asian School Gold Medallist Vaibhav Suri finished second, followed by Shubham Bahskar and Agamjot at third and fourth respectively.

Prince and Vaibhav have been selected to represent Delhi in the forth coming National Under-11 Open Chess Championship.

In the girls category, R Mathuravani defeated Priyam Chaliha in the final round ending with a score of five points from as many rounds.

Himani Sharma and Devasri Lal finished at second and third positions respectively.

Mathuravani and Himani Sharma will represent Delhi in the National Under-11 Girls Championship.
