Priti beats Anishka to enter finals

Pune, Feb 28 (UNI) Priti Bhandurge put out Anishka Sathe in a tie-breaker 9-8 (9-7) to enter the finals in the Girls Under-12 event of the 14th RCBC Open Junior Tennis championship here today.

Priti Bhandurge of PYC Hindu Gymkhana scraped past Anishka Sathe of Nigdi Padhikaan to enter finals where she will meet Liyaan Akalkotkar who had a relatively easy win over Tarini Chandramouli 9-4.

In the Boys Under-14 event, Harshawardhan Baxi defeated Manish Dudhani 9-5 and will meet Yash Mokashi in the finals. Yash beat Divyat Rungta 9-1.

In the corresponding Girls Under-14 event, Sharwari Sawant and Nikita Prabhune will clash for the title. Sharwari had an easy victory over Aishwarya Ingle 9-1, while Nikita Prabhune beat Akshita Singla 9-5.

In the Boys Under-10 event, Gavin Francis scrapped past Mihir Damle 8-4 and Adish Rao put out Aditya Varma 8-3 in semis to set up the final clash.

Aryan Rai and Ayush Prabhune will clash in the finals in the Boys Under-8 event. Aryan put out Aditya Iyer 6-1, while Ahush Prabhune scored over Shlok Ranka 6-1.

In the Girls Under-8 event, Anagha Kamble will clash with Shruti Dass in the finals. Anagha had an easy victory over Anushita Pande 6-1.

Boys Under-12: Abhishek Bendre bt Mehul Gugale 9-1; Shubham Pardeshi bt Nigel Lobo 9-5.

Girls Under-8: Anagha Kamble bt Anushita Pande 6-1: Shrusti Dass w/o Ria Chaphekar.
