Ariel Atkins has found her rhythm as a high-volume shooter, helping the Chicago Sky secure a 94-83 victory over the Dallas Wings. This win marked their second consecutive triumph against the Wings, improving their season record to 2-4. Atkins achieved a personal best this season with 26 points, showcasing her growing confidence on the court.
In the first half of the game, Atkins scored 14 points and contributed three assists and four rebounds. She successfully made eight out of 14 field-goal attempts and hit four of eight three-pointers. Her performance in recent games has been impressive, with scores of 21, 17, and now 26 points after a slow start to the season.

Initially, Atkins struggled to reach double figures in Chicago's opening three games. However, she has since increased her shooting attempts significantly. In her last three outings, she attempted at least 14 shots per game. This change in strategy has been intentional as she aims to shoot more frequently.
"Yeah, I do think it's intentional," Atkins stated when discussing her improved performance. She credits the team's developing chemistry for this shift. "As you see us get more comfortable with each other, we're starting to realise where all of our shots are coming from," she added.
The Sky's improved team dynamics have been crucial to their recent success. "I honestly think our team chemistry is really getting there," Atkins noted. The players are learning how to play effectively together by understanding each other's strengths better.
Looking ahead, the Sky will face the Indiana Fever next Saturday. Meanwhile, Dallas Wings will play against the Seattle Storm on Tuesday without Paige Bueckers due to concussion protocol restrictions.
The Chicago Sky's recent victories highlight their growing cohesion and strategic adjustments on the court. With players like Atkins stepping up their game, they aim to continue this positive momentum in upcoming matches.
