Pune dominates MSLTA junior meet

Pune, Feb 17 (UNI) Nandini Dass of Navi Mumbai and Aditya Naik of Mumbai were the only two Mumbai players to record wins in the Girls and Boys Under-10 encounters while Pune proved their supremacy in all other events in the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) inter district junior tennis championship that concluded here today.

Nandini Dass kept a clean slate in the round robin encounter accounting for Raiyka Karachiwalla of Pune 6-3 in the last league match, while Aditya Naik of Mumbai accounted for Adish Rao of Pune 6-1 in the last league encounter.

Pune players Aishwarya Ingle in Girls Under-12, Vaishnavi More, Sharvari Sawant and Nikita Prabhune in Girls Under-14 event, Indra Patwardhan and Manish Dudhani in Boys Under-12 and Raveesh Salelkar, Sagar Shah and Yash Mokashi in the Boys Under-14 events maintained emphatic 3-0 wins in all their encounters.

Meanwhile, two free camps will be organised by the MSLTA during the year and selected players will also be provided with tennis kits, according to MSLTA joint secretary Anand Tulpule.
