Pune gets Rs270 cr for infrastructure development before CYG
Pune, Mar 6 (UNI) Indian Olympic Association chief and Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi today said about Rs 270 crore under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) has been sanctioned for roads and infrastructure development projects in the city, ahead of the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) to be held next year.
The amount of Rs 600 crore earmarked for the city under the JNNURM, Rs 270 crore has been sanctioned after a high level meeting of the urban development ministry yesterday, Mr Kalmadi told UNI.
The funds have been sanctioned for laying and widening of roads near Balewadi sports complex, Nehru stadium, Pune station and 11 more bus terminals.
The proposal to construct three bridges in the city near the Airport, Yerawada area and Kumbhar putla at a cost of Rs 100 crore would also take off soon under the project, he said.
