Punjab teams record huge wins as it rained goals

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) It rained goals, as 33 of them were scored in three matches of the 25th Nehru Sub Junior boys hockey tournament here today.

Punjab teams -- BGS School Khadoor Sahib and NCC Directorate -- recorded huge wins as they pulverised their rivals while local school blanked their rivals from Seoni (MP).

NCC thrashed Goa's St Anthony's High School 12-0, Khadoor Sahib routed Baroda High School, 9-1 and Delhi's GRM School, Nangloi humbled Government Excellence School, Seoni 1-0.

In the first match of the day for Khadoor Sahib team, who led 5-0 at half time, the main goal scorers were Amandeep Singh, Lovpret Singh (three each) Paul (two) and Gagandep Singh (one) scored.

For the losers Amin Parth (one) reduced the margin.

The second match turned out to be no contest as NCC scored at will against Goa school after leading 4-0 at breather.

Ravinder Singh (4) G.S.Rana(3), Gajender singh, Karamjit Singh (two each) and Navneet Singh(one) were the goal getters.

Keeping with the trend Nangloi boys hammered their rivals from Madhya Pradesh and led 7-0 at lemon break. Naveen(4), Praveen, Manish (2 each) Abhishek, Amit, Sandeep (one each) were the scorers.
