Punjabi University beat DU by huge margin of 21 goals

Patiala, Jan 17 (UNI) Punjabi University eves whipped Delhi University by a huge margin of 30-9 to qualify for super league matches in the ongoing North-east Zone Inter-varsity Handball championship here today.

Amandeep Kaur and Inderjeet Kaur of Punjabi University scored 9 goals each, while Harjeet Kaur scored 4 goals. Punjabi University's men and women teams have qualified for the super league matches.

In the Women's section, Panjab University, Chandigarh and MD University, Rohtak, have also qualified for the super league.

The results of other matches in Men's section are: Punjabi University, Patiala beat Dr R M L Avadh University, Faizabad by a big margin of 41-5 to qualify for the super league. Ranjit Singh of the host team scored 8 goals while Kuljeet Khippal scored 5 and Jagjit Singh pumped in 4 goals. Delhi University beat Manipur University in a crucial match by 32-30.

In Women's section, M D University, Rohtak beat C S J M University, Kanpur by 32-15, Panjab University, Chandigarh beat Manipur University by 25-9, Mandeep Kaur of Panjab University scored 9 goals while Arshdeep Kaur scored 8 goals.
