Quickfire goals for Feyenoord in Dutch Cup

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Sep 26 (Reuters) Feyenoord scored three second-half goals in eight minutes to sink Utrecht 3-0 in the Dutch Cup second round today.

Tim de Cler set up Nick Hofs after 52 minutes to open the scoring before Luigi Bruin and Roy Makaay settled the tie for Feyenoord.

Dennis Rommedahl's deflected shot 14 minutes into extra time gave cup holders Ajax Amsterdam a 2-1 win and saved them from major embarrassment against amateur side Kozakken Boys Werkendam.

John Heitinga put Ajax in front from the penalty spot after 25 minutes spot but two minutes before the end of normal time Willem Looijen scored from close range to take the match into extra time.

PSV Eindhoven struggled in the first half against the reserves of Heerenveen but on the stroke of halftime Jonathan Reis broke the deadlock.

Kenneth Perez and Danny Koevermans struck early in the second half to seal the 3-0 victory.

Chilean Sebastian Pardo scored in the final minute to give Excelsior Rotterdam a 3-2 win against VVV Venlo, who had fought back from two goals down.

Groningen crushed the amateurs of IJsselmeervogels Spakenburg 8-1, while Heerenveen sank Argon Mijdrecht 3-0.

Yesterday top-flight clubs Vitesse Arnhem and Willem II Tilburg were respectively eliminated by second division Eindhoven and Haarlem.
