Rachita and Raghavendra given top billing

Bangalore, May 24 (UNI) Rachita Sarda and S Raghavendra of Karnataka have been awarded top billing in the 22nd All India Ranking Tennis tournament for Boys and Girls Under-16, to be held here from May 26.

In the Under-14 category, A Kashyap and Preethi Ujjini also from the host state would be the top seeds in the tournament. The Qualifying rounds, which has attracted 83 players from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, New Delhi, Maharashtra and Karnataka, would be held on May 24 and 25.

Host Sadashivanagar Club President Ram Sanjeev Reddy told newsmen that the semifinals and the final would be played on the newly layed synthetic court.

He said for the first time, ITF certified Referee Joy Mukherjee from Kolkata would conduct the tournament.

The AITA has nominated Sunil Yajaman as the AITA Supervisor to ensure that tournament is conducted as per the rules.
