Melbourne, Jan 20: Nadal fans rejoice, for the "Rafa Slam" is truly on. The swashbuckling Spaniard, in his trademark style blazed past Ryan Sweeting 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, to cruise in to the third round of Australian Open 2011.

Rafael Nadal, in quest of his fourth consecutive grand slam and 10th overall, started the match in a belligerent fashion that can be matched by a select few. Sweeting, an American qualifier was no match to the muscled Spaniard who finished the match like a stroll in the park.

The Spaniard who will next meet Australian Bernard Tomic in the third round, showed no signs of rustiness especially after being denied a full workout in his first match of the tournament when his opponent Marcos Daniel retired hurt. He rarely fumbled and in the end made a mincemeat of the American whose only other appearance at a grand slam second round was in the US open of 2006.

Such was Nadal's dominance that he sealed the first set 6-2 in just 28 minutes. Sweeting who double-faulted on the opening point was broken once more in the seventh game. Nadal's second set game was even more emphatic as Sweeting, ranked World No.116 could manage only one game against Nadal's six.

The same story was repeated in the third-set as well, but Sweeting put up a bit more resistance than he had till then.

In all, Ryan Sweeting could last only 102 minutes before Nadal blitzkrieg. If Nadal manages to win the title, then he will join the elite club of Don Budge (1938) and Rod Laver (1962 and 1969) as the only men to hold all four major crowns at the same time.
