Raghunath, Bindra miss 10m pistol finals by a point

Munich, Jun 4 (UNI) Indian shooters aweful run of form continues at the ISSF World Cup here, as both PT Raghunath and Abhinav Bindra failed to qualify for the finals of the men's 10m air rifle.

Both Raghunath and Bindra missed the final berth by margin of onlu one point. Ragunath was the better among the two, securing 10th position with a score of 595 (99+99+99+99+99+100), while his highly rated countrytmen Bindra had to satisfy himself with a disappointing 13th spot with a score of 595 (99+98+100+100+99+99).

The other Indian in the fray Gagan Narang finished 52nd in the field of 130 shooters with a score of 591 (99+97+98+99+100+98) The gold in this event was won by Mohaupt Tino of Germany with a score of 701.1 (596+105.1), silver was won by Farnik Thomas of Austria with a score of 700.7 (598+102.7), while the b ronze went to Zhu Qinan of China with a score of 700.6 (598+102.6).

Meanwhile, in the women's 25m sports pistol event, Indian eves were nowhere near the leaderboard as Sushma Singh finished 32nd with a score of 575 (Precision 290, Rapid 285), Annu Raj Singh finished 33rd with a score of 575 (Precision 288, Rapid 287), while the third Indian in the event Shweta Chaudhary finished 64th with a score of 568 (Precision 287, Rapid 281).
