Rajasthan outclass Railways by 47 run

Jaipur, Apr 6 (UNI) Despite a devastating spell by Sanjay Bangar (4-0-16-5), hosts Rajasthan managed to record the third successive victory when they beat Railways by 47 runs in the Central Zone Twenty-20 tie at the SMS Stadium here today.

Asked to bat first Rajasthan managed to reach a moderate score of 146 for 9 in 20 overs and then bundled out their opponents for a paltry 99 with three overs still remaining in the match.

Opener Dishant Yagnik (29, 26b, 4x4, 1x6) and Rohit Sharma (17, 11b, 3x4) gave a fine start to Rajasthan puting on 54 for the first wicket. Thereafter Rajasthan batsmen kept the scoreboard moving despite wickets falling at regular interval. Bangar bowled exremely well scalping five wickets in a row that included Nikhil Dou (0), Robin Bist (0), Kuldeep SIngh (11), Ranjeet Singh (2) and Afroz Khan (16).

Chasing the target Railways were naver in a comfortable position as half of their batsmen were back in the pavilion for only 38 on the board. Afroz Khan damaged them the most as he took three for 21.

Bangar top-scored with 21 but was one of the victims of Afroz.

Besides Afroz, skipper Mohammed Aslam captured 2 for 22.

Rajasthan will now take on Madhya Pradesh tomorrow. Brief Score - Rajasthan innings - 146 for 9 wickets in 20 oves.
