Ramesh Budihal from Karnataka and Kamali P from Tamil Nadu successfully defended their titles in the Open Men's and Women's categories at the 3rd Mahabs Point Break Challenge National Surf Series.
Held on the picturesque shores of the Bay of Bengal, this event saw Kamali also clinch the Groms 16 and Under Girls title, while Ramesh secured his third consecutive win at this competition. Young talent Kishore Kumar triumphed in the Groms 16 and Under Boys category, capping off two days of thrilling surfing action.

In a fiercely contested Men's Open final, Ramesh Budihal faced stiff competition from Tamil Nadu's Ajeesh Ali and Kishore Kumar. Despite the challenge, Ramesh emerged victorious with a score of 12.83 points, surpassing Ajeesh's 10.30 points. Kishore finished third with a score of 9.37, marking an impressive week for the young surfer.
The Women's Open final saw Kamali P dominate with a high score of 14.33 points. She had a significant lead over Shrishti Selvam from Tamil Nadu, who scored 4.17 points to finish second. Sandhya Arun, also from Tamil Nadu, secured third place with a score of 3.10 points. One of the favourites, Sugar Shanti Banarse, had a disappointing performance, finishing fourth with a score of 2.50 points.
Kamali P showcased her prowess by winning the Groms 16 and Under Girls title with an impressive score of 15.57 points, surpassing her own score in the Women's Open final. Saanvi Hegde from Karnataka finished second with a score of 3.27 points, while Dhamayanthi Sriram from Tamil Nadu came in third with a score of 2.23 points.
The Groms 16 and Under Boys category witnessed an intense battle between Kishore Kumar and Tayin Arun. Kishore emerged victorious with a score of 14.84 points, while Tayin scored 11.87 points to secure second place. Harish P from Tamil Nadu finished third with a score of 9.33 points.
This year's Mahabs Point Break Challenge highlighted the exceptional talent present in Indian surfing circles, with both seasoned surfers like Ramesh Budihal and rising stars like Kishore Kumar making their mark on the national stage.
