Randhawa tied 6th, Jeev takes a tumble while Kapur miss cut

Straffan, Ireland, July 6 (UNI) A bogey on the last hole was responsible for Jyoti Randhawa slipping four places to tied sixth spot while Jeev Milkha tumbled down from tied ninth to tied 41st at the end of second round of the Smurfit Kappa European Open.

However, the only other Indian in the fray, Shiv Kapur continued his horrid run of form, coming up with an atrocious four-over 74 to boot with yesterday's nine-over 79 that ruined his hopes of progressing to the weekend action at the K Club.

Randhawa shot an even par 70, firing in all the three bogeys of the day on the front nine against an equal number of bogeys for a five-under 135.

The more established compatriot Jeev, however let himself down as he carded a three-over 73, coming up with more bogeys (three) than birdies (two) and to make matters worse he dropped a double bogey on the fourth hole.

Kapur clearly had no chance of making the cut after a two-round score of 13-over 153, his bogeys' tally far outnumbering the birdies as he dropped six strokes while gaining only two.

Atop the charts, Swedes ruled the roost as Pelle Edberg shot to the lead with blistering five-under 65 for a eigth-under 132.

A stroke further is another Swede Niclas Fasth, who maintained his overnight second place, alongwith Scotland's Colin Montogomerie.
