Delhi's Ranveer Mitroo delivered a stellar performance with a two-under 69 for the second time, propelling the Indian boys' team to a shared second position in the APGC Junior Championship held at Hong Kong Golf Club.
Alongside Krish Chawla, their combined score of one-under 283 places them just six shots behind the leaders from Thailand, Parin Sarasmut and Warut Boonrod, after the completion of the second round. This tournament, a significant event in the Asia-Pacific region, saw the Indian Golf Union (IGU) send a four-member squad to compete.

Ranveer's consistent play has kept him in the fourth spot in the individual boys' category, while Krish climbed to 15th place from his previous tied 16th, despite a challenging round of two-over 73. The competition is fierce, with Thailand's Sarasmut and Vietnam's Tuan Anh Nguyen leading the pack with impressive scores of eight-under 134.
Ranveer's round was a rollercoaster, featuring six birdies, one double bogey, and two bogeys, highlighting both his strengths and areas for improvement. "I made a lot of mistakes...I was decent off the tee and approach – good putting and chipping. But dropped a lot of shots from close range today," Ranveer reflected on his performance.
In the girls' individual event, Saanvi Somu made significant headway, securing a joint ninth position with a three-under 69, showcasing her talents among the competitors. Her counterpart, Kashika Mishra, faced challenges, scoring a 10-over 82 while battling a viral fever.
Despite this, the duo of Kashika and Saanvi managed to hold the seventh spot in the team competition with a combined score of 11 over 299. Additionally, in the mixed team category, Krish and Saanvi are tied for the 10th position with a score of five over 289, demonstrating the depth of talent within the Indian contingent.
