Red Bull drivers' war could benefit McLaren: Button

By Super Admin

London, June 1 (ANI): The bitter falling-out between Red Bull team-mates Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber after their collision in Turkey on Sunday could benefit McLaren in the remaining races of the 2010-11 season, feels Formual One champion Jenson Button.

"I don't know what's going to happen between Vettel and Webber, whether they will kiss and make up before the next race in Canada. But if they don't, it normally means that they won't be sharing information as much. Possibly, I don't know how it works there," The Telegraph quoted Button, as saying.

Championship leader Webber called the race a "------- disaster" after Vettel collided with him while attempting to claim the race lead 18 laps from the finish, sending the German crashing out and relegating Webber to third behind the two McLarens.

"When you disagree with someone like that and have a coming together, you might take your eye off the ball a bit and you might think the most important person to beat is your team-mate," Button added.

Button added that he was hugely encouraged by the speed with which McLaren had closed the gap on Red Bull, who have claimed pole at all seven races so far.

And, he did not hold back from reminding the Milton Keynes-based team how many points they have squandered.

"The great thing for us was, even if we finished third and fourth [in Turkey], I think we'd be reasonably happy in the way we know we've improved. We were quicker than the Red Bulls. It's amazing how much of a leap we've made. We've bridged the gap and the rest have stayed back," he said. (ANI)
