Eersel vs Rungrawee: Power vs Precision Set for Five-Round Tactical War at ONE Fight Night

Regian Eersel meets Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong in a five-round clash for the vacant ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title. The bout headlines The Inner Circle on April 10, live on onefc.com. The Muay Thai champion has spent weeks breaking down his rival’s style.

The 33-year-old Dutch-Surinamese athlete is the reigning ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion. Eersel owns a 64-5 professional record and a 13-1 slate in ONE. He is a 10-time ONE World Champion across two striking disciplines in the promotion’s heavyweight classes.

Eersel vs Rungrawee Five-Round Title Fight

Rungrawee’s leg kicks a major threat

Rungrawee is a 30-year-old Thai striker and noted southpaw. He holds a 158-48 striking record and a 6-2 mark in ONE. His “Legatron” nickname comes from heavy leg kicks that have broken down opponents throughout his career and shaped his attacking identity.

Eersel has studied Rungrawee’s southpaw game in detail. He expects a variety of low kicks and punching combinations aimed at his long frame. He said, “I anticipate everything. Leg kicks, calf kicks, kicks on my right leg because he stands southpaw, kicks on the inside leg.”

Champion says rivals underrate his power

The champion feels opponents misread his slim build before fights. His tall, lean frame often leads rivals to doubt his knockout power. “They see a tall, skinny guy and think he cannot punch that hard or kick that hard. Then the moment they feel it, I see the frustration,” he said.

Eersel refuses to chase a finish at any cost on April 10. He is ready for a drawn-out clash and prefers control over risk. “In my mind, I always think we’re going to fight five rounds. I expect a full five-round war, a technical war between me and Rungrawee,” he said.
