Ritwik and Joshna will miss Golecha memorial squash
Jaipur, Aug 26 (UNI) Defending champion Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa will miss the fifth Harish Chandra Golecha memorial Rajasthan Open squash championship, which kicks off from September 12 to 16 at the Jaipur Club.
In their absence local stars and under-19 national champion Parth Sharma and under-17 national champion Surbhi Misra will be the main attraction of the championship.
Organising secretary Dharmendra Kamthan told the newsmen that national champion Saurav Ghoshal, Joshna Chinappa and Ritwik Bhattacharya will not be seen in the tournament. Saurav and Ritwik will be playing in British Open while Joshna is in Egypt for training.
He said that interested player should submit their entries by September seven while the draw of the tournamnet is on ninth September.
He said that Under-19, under17, under-15 event will played in men section while under-19, under-17 and under-13 events were played in women section.
The winners of the men section would get Rs 75,000 while winners in women will pocket Rs 35,000.
This is the highest winner amount in the country after Oters cup, which is organised in Mumbai.
Jaipur Club president SK Bohra said that the amount was increased to Rs 50,000. Now it is Rs 5 lakh from 4.5 lakh from this year, he added.
