Road To UFC Season 3 Results: Angad Bisht Run Ends in Semi-Final Split Decision Loss

Indian MMA star Angad Bisht's quest to land a UFC contract via the Road To UFC season 3 ended in a narrow semi-final loss to Korea's Donghun Choi at the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas on Saturday (August 24).

After two episodes of non-stop action, eight finalists in four divisions have emerged in this ground-breaking "win and advance" tournament. Here is a look at the recap and results from the Road To UFC Season 3 semi-finals:

Road To UFC Season 3 Episode 5 Recap

In the first fight of the night, Yan Qihui and Danni McCormack faced off in a grueling women's flyweight non-tournament bout that went the distance, with McCormack earning a hard-fought decision over a tough-as-nails, bloodied Yan.

In the first bout of the flyweight semis, Kiru Sahota used his distinctive reach to slowly gain on Ruel Panales, and the judges gave him the decision win.

In the first bout of the bantamweight semis, Daermisi Zhawupasi and SuYoung You put on an extremely entertaining, high-output scrap with punches, throws and scrambles in which You's effectiveness swayed the scorecards in his favor.

In the second flyweight semi, DongHun Choi and Angad Bisht went back and forth for three rounds, both having successful moments that seemed the tide was turning, and after significant shots from both, Choi won the split decision.

Tokitaka Nakanishi used his strong grappling against Baergeng Jieleiyisi in the first round of the second bantamweight semifinals bout, but Baergeng's own ground control mounted a better offense as the fight wore on and he scored the unanimous decision.

Road To UFC Season 3 Episode 6 Recap

In the welterweight non-tournament bout, Samandar Muradov maintained his unbeaten record by out-grappling Jonathan Piersma to a unanimous decision victory.

In the first bout of the women's strawweight semis, Feng Xiaocan turned in a dominant effort, out-hustling Miki Motono from start to finish for the win.

In the first bout of the featherweight semis, Zhu Kangjie and Shin Haraguchi battled in a clear clash of styles, and while Haraguchi's wrestling pinned down the later rounds, the judges gave the split decision to Zhu via his striking damage.

Dong Huaxiang and Shi Ming went back and forth in a very even second women's strawweight semifinal, leaving the judges to make the decision and awarding the split to Shi Ming.
