India's Angad Bisht is all set for a critical fight in his MMA career when he faces Korea's DongHoon Choi in the semi-final of the Road To UFC Season 3 on Friday (August 23) at the UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
Angad Bisht, a Rudraprayag-born fighter, who fights out of Dehradun, made a name for himself in the MMA circuit at Matrix Fight Night (MFN), is two wins away from landing a UFC contract.

The Indian MMA star moved to the last four of the flyweight tournament after a stoppage win over Phlippines' John Dave Almanza in Road To UFC Season 3 opener at the UFC Performance Institute Shanghai earlier this year.
Before the most important fights of his career, the Indian MMA star shared his journey to the sport and what he originally aspired to become in an all-India exclusive interview organized by Sony Sports Network.
The 29-year-old revealed that he initially wanted to become a doctor, but switched to MMA after his transition to a gym trainer led him to the curosity of learning about combat sport.
"Initially, I planned to become a doctor and joined medical coaching at Dehradun. Later, I thought it's not something I want to become and joined a gym in Delhi as a part-time trainer. I also started learning MMA part-time to follow my curiosity about combat sports," Angad Bisht said on his early career.
"When I won my first fight, people applauded me, there was a lot of positive energy, and it was a different feeling altogether. This was the point I decided to make my career in MMA."
Angad will become the second Indian to land a UFC contract through the Road To UFC should he win the final of the tournament. He will join Anshul Jubli in the elusive list. However, Bisht said he has not had a chat with Jubli before the fight due to the busy trainging camps.
"We haven't talked yet as we stay away from Instagram and other social media apps and focus fully on our preparation during our camp. Maybe we will talk after my fight," Bisht added.
Angad, a powerful ground and pound proponent, will face a takedown challenge against Choi this weekend. But Bisht has said he is well-prepared for whatever the Korean throws at him.
"I feel well-prepared for the semi-finals. This time I have trained in Dehradun, and I think I have prepared well this time. This has been the best camp for me till now and a good performance will be on display from my side," Bisht said.
