Rodrigues Steps In To Face Sundell At ONE Fight Night 14, Lipeng Meets Nastyukhin At ONE Fight Night 15

By Mike Joseph

ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Smilla Sundell has been untouchable since entering ONE Championship. And on Saturday, 30 September, "The Hurricane" has her first World Title defense awaiting her.

The Swedish slinger will appear in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham. Opposite of her will be ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues, who will try to claim Sundell's World Title.

Sundell was set to meet Jackie Buntan in September's fixture at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. However, that plan fell apart when the American star announced that she had to withdraw from the bout. In her wake, though, comes a fellow phenom in Rodrigues.

Much like Sundell, Rodrigues has remained a dominant force in atomweight Muay Thai. The Brazilian's promotional debut in 2020 saw her overcome promotional superstar Stamp Fairtex for the atomweight Muay Thai crown.

Rodrigues recently kept her gold secure against Janet Todd this past March at ONE Fight Night 8 - her first bout since becoming a mother.

The striking stars have both been impenetrable throughout their ONE tenures. And the duo will have a unique opportunity to enter goddess mode with the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title at stake.

Zhang Lipeng To Face Timofey Nastyukhin At ONE Fight Night 15

A massive lightweight mixed martial arts clash will take place at ONE Fight Night 15. Zhang Lipeng and #3-ranked contender Timofey Nastyukhin lock horns on Saturday, 7 October, in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both men need to win. And neither man can afford to lose. Zhang was building a dangerous repertoire since his debut in 2021. But Saygid Izagakhmaev snapped his two-fight winning streak last September at ONE 161.

Zhang wants to insert himself back into the lightweight fold. But to do so, he'll have to overcome the veteran prowess of Nastyukhin, who's in dire straits to find his first win since 2020.

The durable Russian has suffered back-to-back-to-back defeats as of late. Nastyukhin has come up short against Christian Lee, Dagi Arslanaliev, and Halil Amir. That said, the 33-year-old's fate could change with a monumental victory against Zhang.
