Rodtang Jitmuangnon Celebrates Birthday by Signing New ONE Championship Deal

ONE Fight Night: Striking phenom Rodtang Jitmuangnon has given himself the ultimate birthday gift. The Thai megastar put pen to paper on a new deal with ONE Championship earlier today, July 23, with the signing taking place at Jitmuangnon Gym in Thailand.

Fittingly, today also marks Rodtang's birthday, adding extra significance to a milestone moment in his storied career. The former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion continues to be one of the promotion's most beloved and dangerous strikers.

Rodtang has built an extraordinary legacy since making his ONE Championship debut back in 2018. Riding four consecutive victories, he earned a World Title opportunity against then-champion Jonathan Haggerty in 2019.

He dominated the British star to claim the throne, marking the beginning of what became one of the most memorable championship reigns in flyweight history. Multiple successful title defenses followed as Rodtang cemented himself as the division's dominant force.

That reign hit a snag in 2024, when Rodtang was stripped of his Flyweight Muay Thai crown after failing to make weight and pass hydration testing ahead of a defense against Jacob Smith. Still, he refused to fade from the spotlight.

He instead delivered one of the most talked-about performances of his career against Japanese megastar Takeru Segawa. Rodtang shocked the world by demolishing Takeru in just 80 seconds at ONE 172 in 2025, proving his danger extended well beyond Muay Thai and into kickboxing.

A year later, the two rivals met again in a highly anticipated rematch at ONE SAMURAI 1. This time, Takeru turned the tables, knocking out his famous dance partner in the fifth round to capture the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Title.

Now, with a fresh contract secured, the Thai icon appears ready to write the next chapter of his remarkable career. While no fight date has been announced for Rodtang's return, his new deal signals that his storied journey with the promotion is far from over.
