Rodtang To Defend Muay Thai Strap At ONE Fight Night 10

Singapore, February 14: America, get ready for Rodtang Jitmuangnon. The Thai superstar will touch down in the United States on 5 May when he defends his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship for the fifth time.

He faces Mexican Muay Thai fighter Edgar Tabares at the historic ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

"The Iron Man" first made his debut in the Circle in 2018, when he unanimously defeated Sergio Wielzen at ONE: CONQUEST OF HEROES. Rodtang was already a shining star in his homeland of Thailand, but that fight was his long-awaited introduction to the global stage.

From there, an undefeated winning streak was born. The 25-year-old then defeated Jonathan Haggerty for the flyweight crown a year later at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES in 2019 after picking up four straight wins in the organization.

While "The General" made his best bid to reclaim his strap, Rodtang stopped the Brit in his tracks with a third-round knockout victory at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW at the start of 2020.

Since those early days, Rodtang is undefeated in ONE's striking arts, racking up 13 wins in total. This is part of his already impressive resume of 270-42-10 and highlights his incredible striking capabilities.

He has only tasted defeat in the Circle once, when he faced MMA GOAT and ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious Johnson in a special rules super-fight at ONE X in March 2022.

This matchup pitted Rodtang's Muay Thai skills against "Mighty Mouse's" MMA prowess. Although Johnson submitted the Thai in the second round of their fight, Rodtang fought until the very end.

Ahead of him now lies a WBC Muay Thai International World Champion, who is eager to be the first to take the long-time World Champion down the ranks of the Muay Thai roster. Tabares has also represented the Mexican national team at international competitions and won gold in national championships.

However, if "The Iron Man" does what he does best, then he will be sure to awe his U.S. audience with a truly spectacular performance, highlighting all that he is capable of achieving.
