Rory McIlroy expressed satisfaction with his bogey-free round of 66, placing him joint-second at 15 under par. He trails leader Matteo Manassero by three shots going into the final day of the BMW PGA Championship. McIlroy's six-under round included four birdies and an eagle on the fourth hole, only surpassed by Manassero's 63 and Billy Horschel's 65.
The 35-year-old, who previously won this event in 2014, was content with his third-round performance. Despite finding water on the 18th hole, he managed to scramble a par on the final hole. Speaking to Sky Sports, McIlroy said, "I had a few chances that I let slip there on the back nine, but I got going out there on moving day, shooting six under par, trying to keep up with Matteo."

McIlroy further added that it was his lowest score of the week without any bogeys. He acknowledged needing another low score to catch Manassero. "I love it here. It would be amazing to get my name on the trophy again," he stated.
Matteo Manassero, who also claimed victory at Wentworth in 2013, was thrilled with his performance. As this season nears its end, he has returned from challenging times to deliver some of his finest golf. Reflecting on his round, Manassero shared, "I have to be honest, one of the best rounds I've ever played."
The Italian golfer expressed gratitude for leading after overcoming difficult years. "Thinking of the difficult years, to be standing here right now in the lead - it feels amazing," he said. Manassero plans to enjoy the final day while maintaining his lead.
The competition remains intense as players prepare for the concluding round. With McIlroy aiming for another low score and Manassero enjoying a resurgence in form, fans anticipate an exciting finish at Wentworth.
