RP eager to repeat his Pak performance

Kolkata, Nov 3 (UNI) Nippy left hand pacer R P Singh today said he would be only too happy to repeat his last year's performance in Pakistan.

RP Singh, who accompanied Rajput at the press meet, expressed his satisfaction over the team's overall performance over the last couple of months.

''We have played well over the last few months. We won the Twenty20 World Cup and I am satisfied with the performance I have put up. I just try to do my basics right and bowl a particular line and length.'' Speaking about his wonderful Pakistan tour last year he said, ''I didn't try anything fancy there. Every simple thing I tried there luckily worked for me. I would only be too happy to repeat my performance.'' R P Singh, who made his debut against Pakistan in Faisalabad last year, won a man of the match award for his performance on debut.

Thereafter he slowly faded away from the side, before coming back strongly this year.

''All the comments and criticisms does not bother me. I work hard and try to keep myself focussed. I am not sure what Shoiab Malik has said about me,'' he added.

He added, ''I have played a lot of cricket over the last few months. I have played county, Ranji Trophy and also international matches. All that has helped build my confidence.'' R P Singh was under contract with Leicestershire county for the last season.

Speaking about the Pakistan side he said, ''They have got a world class line up, but even among them if you want me to pick somebody, I will mention Mohammed Yousuf and Younis Khan. They are very consistent.'' On any gameplan to peg them he said, ''We have worked on certain variations and plans. We have talked about their strength and weaknesses and we are going to have further sessions about it. I will keep all that advice in mind and try to work accordingly.'' UNI
