Rs 3,500 cr scheme for Commonwealth Games: Aiyar

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Feb 26 (UNI) Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Youth Affairs and Sports Mani Sankar Aiyar said a massive scheme of Rs 3500 crore was under consideration to create infrastructure facilities for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in the country.

The Minister, currently touring his Mayiladuthurai constituency said as many as 83 countries would participate in the next Games.

About the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal award, he said his views were identical with that of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
