Rural Olympics starts at Devgadh Baria

Ahmedabad, Oct 8 (UNI) The two-day Rural Olympics started today, for the first time under the aeigs of Sports Authority of Gujarat in Devgadh-Baria's traditional Dussehra fair.

This Rural Olympics has become an added attraction of rural sports events here.

Teenagers from different parts of the state below 16 years have been participating in this event.

Traditional Gujarati and Indian games like short race, long race, rope pulling, long jump, Gedi-dado, Gillol, cycle-polo, kabaddi, kho-kho, archery etc are being held.

This event attracts thousands of villagers from surrounding areas.

Sports Authority of Gujarat regularly organizes Rural Olympics event at world famous Tarnetar fair in Saurashtra every year. Now Devagadh Baria fair too is included on its activity map.
