Rural Sports and Games Tourney concludes in Middle Andaman

Port Blair, Oct 12 (UNI) The 10-day Block level tournament held under the aegis of All India Rural Sports and Games at Rangat Mini Stadium of Middle Andaman came to a close today.

Sports, Arts and Culture Director of Andaman Lucas Robert was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.

In the final matches, JNV Panchvati was the winning boy's team in volleyball, while Government Senior Secondary School, Bakultala, was the winning team for that of the girls.

The Kabbadi final was won by the boys of Government Sr Sec School Rangat.

Kho Kho (girls) final was bagged by JNV Panchvati. The Sr Sec School, Bakultala team, were the final winners of the football match. Master Prem Nath of Goverment Sr Sec School, Sabri Junction was adjudged the Best Footballer of the Tournament and the award for him was sponsored by Mr. Dayanand Biswas, Uppramukh, Middle Andaman.

Master Rohit Dhanga of Bakultala school was declared the young promising football player.

Anju Lata Verma, Deputy Education Officer, Rangat, in her welcome address said that this was the first time ever that an official tournament was organized at Rangat Mini Stadium. This rural level tournament winners, she said, will now proceed to the district level, followed by the state and finally the national levels.
