Russell Westbrook Achieves Historic Triple-Double, Solidifying His Place Among NBA's Greatest Players

In a standout performance, Russell Westbrook recorded a triple-double with zero turnovers and perfect shooting. This achievement marks him as one of the greatest players in NBA history.

Russell Westbrook made NBA history on Monday by becoming the third player to achieve a triple-double with zero turnovers while maintaining a perfect shooting record. This remarkable feat occurred during the Denver Nuggets' 132-121 win over the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. Westbrook joins Nikola Jokic and Domantas Sabonis, who previously accomplished this in 2018 and November, respectively.

The 36-year-old Westbrook scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and provided 10 assists. He achieved this by shooting seven for seven from the field and two for two from the free-throw line. This performance marked his 201st career triple-double, setting an NBA record for the most by any player.

Westbrook's Historic Triple-Double Performance

Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone praised Westbrook as a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the greatest point guards ever. "What I admire so much about him, aside from the leadership and toughness that he brings every single day, is he's got no ego," said Malone.

In the same game, Westbrook's teammate Nikola Jokic also recorded a triple-double with 36 points, 22 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jamal Murray contributed with 20 points and 10 assists. Despite these impressive performances, postgame discussions focused primarily on Westbrook's achievement.

Coach Malone highlighted Westbrook's dedication to winning championships as his primary motivation for joining the team. "He came here for one reason and that's to help us win a championship," Malone stated. "He hates to lose, and that's another thing I love about him. He's built the right way, and I'll go to war with Russell Westbrook any day."

Westbrook's exceptional performance not only added another milestone to his illustrious career but also underscored his commitment to team success. His ability to deliver under pressure continues to inspire both teammates and fans alike.
