S S Das' unbeaten 75 helps Orissa reach 150 for 3

Cuttack, Nov 4 (UNI) Riding on an unbeaten 75 by captain S S Das, Orissa scored 150 for three after bowling out Hyderabad for 296 at the close of the second day of the Elite Group A Ranji Trophy match at the Barabati stadium here today.

Orissa opener S S Das and B S Pati provided a solid start to the run chase with a 86 runs partnership before Pati fell to Amol Shinde for 37.

Shinde went on to claim his second wicket when he trapped P R Sinha lbw for 14 runs. At the other end, local boy and left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha playing for Hyderabad, claimed the prized wicket of Niranjan Behera for 8 runs.

S S Das however, continued to hold fort at one end and remained unbeaten with 75 which included nine hits to the fence.

Earlier, Hyderabad resumed at their overnight score of 228 for five, but could add only 68 runs with Abhinav Kumar missing out his century by one run.

Abhinab Kumar did not get any support from the other end and remained unbeaten at 99.

For Orissa, Debashis Mohanty, Basant Mohanty and Pritamjeet Das claimed three wickets each conceding 63.81 and 59 runs respectively while Aswani Yadav was run out without scoring any run.

For Hyderabad, Amol Shinde claimed two wickets conceding 16 runs and Pragyan Ojha claimed one wicket giving away 18 runs.
