S8UL, a renowned name in esports and gaming content, has taken a significant step by signing an all-Australian Apex Legends team for the Esports World Cup 2025. This move marks S8UL's debut in the international Apex Legends scene, showcasing their ambition to make a mark globally. The team comprises Sharky, Jesko, and Legacy, with Rogers as their coach.
Rick "Sharky" Wirth is a standout player in the Apex Legends community. His achievements include winning the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS): 2022 Championship with DarkZero Esports, earning $500,000 (approx. INR 4.3 crore). Sharky has also competed in EWC 2024 and played for Team Burger, amassing over $320,000 (approx. INR 2.7 crore) in career earnings.
Joining Sharky are Benjamin "Jesko" Spaseski and Tom "Legacy" Canty, who previously played together under Guild Esports based in London. They have participated in major tournaments like the ALGS: 2024 Championship and secured a top 10 finish at last year's EWC. Together, they have earned over $150,000 (approx. INR 1.2 crore) for their previous team.
The team's coach, Harrison "Rogers" Rogers, brings tactical expertise and strategic direction to guide this talented lineup. His deep understanding of the competitive scene and players' styles adds immense value to the team's preparations and execution during matches.
The Esports World Cup 2025 is set to be the largest multi-title esports event ever held. It will feature over 2,000 elite players from 200 top clubs competing for a prize pool exceeding $70 million (approx. INR 602 crore). Of this amount, $27 million is allocated for the EWC Club Championship.
Animesh Agarwal aka 8Bit Thug, Co-founder and CEO of S8UL stated: "We're incredibly excited to take this next step into Apex Legends with a world-class team." He emphasised that representing India on such a global stage aligns perfectly with S8UL's vision for esports dominance.
This announcement follows S8UL's recent participation in other titles at EWC 2025 like EAFC 25, Chess, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Tekken 8. By onboarding top-tier teams across various games including Apex Legends now too - it shows how serious they are about making an impact internationally beyond just mobile gaming or content creation alone.
Coach Rogers expressed his enthusiasm by saying: "Joining S8UL is a massive step forward for us as a team." He highlighted that this partnership isn't just about one event but building something long-term with an organisation sharing their vision and ambition.
With its new Apex Legends roster announcement alongside other initiatives already underway - S8UL continues scaling Indian representation on international stages while strengthening its status globally within both esports competition itself plus related content creation efforts alike.
