On the second day of the 7th Elite Men's National Boxing Championships in Shillong, Sagar, a silver medalist at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in the 92+kg category, and Sachin, the 2021 World Youth gold medalist in the 57kg category, showcased dominant performances.
Sachin, representing SSCB (Services Sports Control Board), exhibited a commanding display right from the first round. His relentless attack and powerful punches overwhelmed Vishal Kumar of Punjab, who struggled throughout the bout.

Sachin secured a comprehensive 5-0 victory. His next challenge is set for the round of 16 against Rajasthan's Roshan Saini scheduled for Tuesday.
In the 92+kg category, Sagar, representing RSPB (Railway Sports Promotion Board), had a relatively easy bout. He faced Shubham Singh from Uttarakhand and secured a victory by the referee stopping the contest in the first round. Sagar is now geared up to face SSCB's Satish Kumar in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
Vanshaj, the reigning World Youth champion in the 63.5kg category from SSCB, began his campaign dominantly against Ashish of All India Police (AIP). Displaying exceptional technical prowess, Vanshaj left no room for his opponent to make a comeback, securing a convincing 5-0 win. Vanshaj's next challenge is against Ratandeep Sharma from Uttar Pradesh in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
Varinder Singh, a three-time national champion in the 60kg category representing RSPB, advanced to the round of 16 with a unanimous 5-0 decision win over Vishal Nupe from Maharashtra. Varinder is scheduled to face Lokesh Khichi of Rajasthan in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
The championships have seen participation from over 350 boxers across 13 weight categories, adding to the intensity and excitement of the event.
