Sahil Deshmukh in time for double crown

Pune, Apr 26 (UNI) Sahil Deshmukh of Pune placed himself in line for a double crown when he entered the Boys Under 10 and 12 finals of the Ramesh Desai Memorial State Ranking tennis championships, here today.

In the semis of Boys Under-12 category, Sahil put out Vivek Waghmare 6-3, 6-4 whereas in the Boys Under-10 category, he defeated Dhir Gala of Mumbai 9-0 and put himself in line for the double crown.

Pune's Rakshay Thakkar will clash with top seed Tushal Thawani for Boys Under-16 category title while in Girls' Under-16 event, Phaltan's Aryali Chavan will clash with Sana Sohani for the title.

In the toughest match of the day, Lavina Chawala who upset top seed Tanaya Gosavi yesterday, went down fighting to Aryali chavan in three sets. Chavan managed to win 7-6(7-4), 6-3.
