Bengaluru, December 3: Over 1,200 enthusiasts participated at the Herbalife Nutrition's Fit Families Fest, which was flagged off by badminton star Saina Nehwal and boxer MC Mary Kom at the Embassy Manyata Business Park in Bengaluru on Sunday (December 3).
The fest was an effort to motivate people to come together as a family, celebrate and raise awareness about the role of a healthy, active lifestyle coupled with good nutrition for long-term health and wellbeing.
Speaking on the initiative, Olympic bronze medallist Saina Nehwal said: "Herbalife has always demonstrated unique and innovative ideas to spread the good word of fitness and a healthy, active lifestyle. Bringing families to celebrate togetherness and fitness is a step in the right direction to motivate people to stay fin - in a fun way."
Five-time Asian boxing champion Mary Kom, who participated with her entire family, said: "I am so glad that I, along with my entire family, was part of this celebration. I will surely look out for the Fit Families Fest every year."
The fest had various activities like the 3K and 5K run, 10K cycling, aerobics, zumba and yoga. The fest culminated in a rock show, performed by Raghu Dixit.
Speaking about the initiative, Ajay Khanna, vice-president and country head of Herbalife International India, said: "Through the Fit Families Fest, we endeavoured to bring together the entire family, inspire and motivate each other, by participating in sports activities that are fun and rejuvenating. We hope that this event has inspired, energized and rejuvenated Bangaloreans to exercise regularly, as well as ensure a balanced nutrition intake."
