Margao, Dec 21: Former champions Mohan Bagan and Salgaocar will prove their mettle when both clash in their seventh round ONGC I-League Football Championship match at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda tomorrow.
As both the teams are struggling for points to improve their position, they need to tone-up their game to remain in the race. Mohan Bagan, with a single win and two draws have five points from six outings while Salgaocar have still not registered a win, they have three points from three drawn matches in an equal number of outings. Bagan, boasting big names like Bhaichung Bhutia, Jose Ramiras Barreto, Douglas D'Silva, S Venkatesh and James Singh, have not been quick in grasping the advantages as seen in their earlier outings.
Salgaocar coach Savio Madeira said that his boys need to bounce back and get into form to remain in contention.
''Presently, we are precariously placed,'' he said.
He added that his boys play well, but falter on crucial moments and this needs to be improved.
Defender Biju Kumar, who was booked with two yellow cards, will not play in tomorrow's match.
As usual Salgacoar will heavily depend on Felix Chikmaukov, Milagres Gonsalves, Bonaface Ambani, Rochus Lamare and Anil Kumar to deliver the goods.
