Salgoacar thrash Viva Kerala

Kozhikode, Mar 28 (UNI) Salgoacar, Goa, thrashed Viva Kerala 3-2 in the fourth match of the second division ONGC National Football League 2007 here today.

Nigerian Felix Chimaorwu converted a panalty for Salgoacar from a defensive lapse by rival defender Libu C Philip in the sixth minute. Felix increased the tally in the very next minute to make it 2-0.

Nigerian recruit Baba Thunde reduced the margin for Viva Kerala in 28th minute to make it 2-1.

The third goal for the winners came from R C Prakash in the 49th minute. Though the hosts tried to make a match of it when P K Anil Kumar scored the second goal in the 73rd minute, their efforts to snatch victory from the opposition went in vain.

Point position: Salgoacar Goa 4, Viva Kerala, Vasco Goa 3 each, Army XI one.

Army XI will clash with ONGC Mumbai tomorrow.
