Salgoacer beats Viva

Kochi, Mar 19 (UNI) Salgoacer, Goa outclassed Viva, Kerala, 2-1, in their last engagement in the ONGC 2nd Division NFL Championship here today.

The winners led 2-0 at lemon break.

As both the teams had reserved their place in the final round to be played at Kozhikode, the match was played only for academic interest and hence did not go up to the mark.

Francis Fernandez netted the first goal in the 17th minute for the winners, and two minutes later, Remus Gamez made it to 2-0.

However, towards the close of the match, Shaheed pulled back a goal for Viva (2-1).
