Top PSA honour for India's Sandhu

Bengaluru, August 10: India's Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu was named the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Player of the Month for July.
The 29-year-old, won successive PSA World Tour titles this year and two in the month of July including the South Australian Open and Victorian Open.
The Chandigarh-born bro, who reached a career-high ranking of 56 in September, 2015, had had already clinched the Malaysian Squash Tour IX and Nissan Open earlier this year.
In the Victorian Open title clash, he was up against home hope and top seed Rex Hedrick.
Despite dropping the opening game 12-14 on the tie-break, he fought back to claim his ninth PSA World Tour crown as he prevailed 12-14, 11-3, 11-4, 11-7 in a 77-minute fina.l

The title win in Victoria helped him in a long way in getting the PSA honour.
Earlier, in the South Australian Open final in Adelaide, he beat local boy Rhys Dowling 11-8, 12-10, 11-4.
Sandhu's best years as a pro came in 2014 when he beat the then No.1 and ace player Saurav Ghosal in the final of the Indian Nationals to lift the crown for the first time. He also clinched Asian Games gold at Incheon, South Korea, the same year.
