Futures ITF begins tomorrow

Chandigarh, May 27 (UNI) Two trainees of Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA), wild card Vijayant Malik and 1020th ITF ranked Sanam Singh will meet in the opening match of the 10,000 dollar Hospitality SAIL India 3 Futures ITF Men's Circuit tomorrow on the Centre Court at the CLTA Stadium in Sector 10 here.

Another CLTA product wild card entrant Kinshuk Sharma will cross swords with sixth seed and 751st ranked Navdeep Singh on the Centre Court. Yet another CLTA trained wild card Tushar Liberhan (1245th ranked) will cross swords with 1150th ranked Kiran Nandkumar.

According to the draw made by ITF Referee Puneet Gupta, fourth seed Vijay Kannan (ranked 739) is pitted against wild card and 1245th ranked Sriambalajit Narayanaswamy in the first round encounter on Centre Court No 2. The fifth singles match of the day will be played between 106th ranked Vinod Sridhar and 916th ranked Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan.

Top seed Karan Rastogi, 398th ranked, has been drawn to meet a qualifier. Second seeded and 621st ranked Vivek Shokeen will also begin his campaign with a first round match against a qualifier.

Meanwhile, Dilshod Sharifi (Tjk), Varun Walia, Mithun Murali, Andrew Fitzpatrick (GBR), Nitten Kirrtane, Kyle Brassington (GBR), Jonathan Kinsella (GBR) qualified for the main draw.

Seedings: Singles: 1 Karan Rastogi, 2 Vivek Shokeen, 3 Sunil Kumar Sipeya, 4 Vijay Kannan, 5 Mathew Smith (GBR), 6 Navdeep Singh, 7 Aditya Madkekar, 8 Ochiai Gullherme (Braz).
