Sanjay, Mahesh champs in chess and billiards at Revenue Meet

Kochi, Jan 16 (UNI) Sanjay N and P S Uma Mahesh from Karnataka took top honours in chess and billiards respectively at the 40th Central Revenue Sports Meet-2008, which began here today.

While Sanjay prevailed over compatriot Raju M, Mahesh beat S David Anand of Tamil Nadu in the finals.

In the women chess final, Suman M of Karnataka beat Sindhu K of Kerala.

In Kabaddi final, Tamil Nadu outclassed Karnataka (26-11) and won the championship.

Kerala trounced Andhra Pradesh (7-0) in the first football semi-final and Tamil Nadu beat Karnataka (4-0) in the other match to decide the finalists.

In cricket, Karnataka will meet Andhra Pradesh in the final after they defeated Tamil Nadu and Kerala respectively in the 40-over semi-finals.

After the first-day, defending champions Tamil Nadu was topping the table with 160 points, followed by Kerala 54, Karnataka 30 and Andhra Pradesh 24.
